Solved Hissing Monitor

Specs: Windows 7
I've got this monitor...it recently stopped displaying anything altogether. All it does now is make a hissing noise and the power light is blinking (green) Hanns G Monitor HW173D. I've isolated the cause of the problem i think. The transformer maybe? I looked inside and this is where the noise is coming from here: http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums...
Hope the picture helps.

Probably worth more than 1/2 the price of a new monitor to have a trained tech look at it. Difficult to see but are any of the capacitors above the indicated coil either bulging or leaking?

Yeah, slightly bulged on top (which should normally be flat I'm guessing) about 5 of them:

There's your answer then. The caps are failing and careful replacement may resurrect the monitor. They are inexpensive but require a bit of skill to remove/replace. If you have the tools and wish to experiment go ahead. You've nothing to lose.

Ok great. I'm gonna do some research on it and give it a shot. Thank you very much.

Hey, i did replace the capacitors and it worked...for about a half hour...then the transformer blew out just went poof and the monitor died. Checked inside all the caps were still intact but that same image i showed you where the transformer was hissing that was pretty damn hot. So i'm figuring i need to get it replaced, just want to confirm if i should get a higher voltage one and how much higher.
