High pitched whining while gaming

Specs: Windows 7
So Skyrim makes my computer really hot, like really hot for some reason. In particular it makes the HDD really hot: 62C at its peak. I have the Samsung Spinpoint GB with a fair amount of air passing over it, it's not too much however it is something. I noticed a couple times when it gets to that really high point it will faintly whine, and after a little it starts really going. It's pretty load and high so I try to start it immediately by shutting down the game and fanning out the computer. I've used the S.M.A.R.T test and found no errors. What can I do to stop this?

The other suspect is my motherboard (Asus M4N98TD EVO) temps are soaring also. It really doesn't make sense that they're getting up to 68C! Could that be the source of the whining?

It's probably just your video card kicking up its fan to max. Those things are noisy.

It's your wife.

Just couldn't help myself.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Post all of your temperatures.
Post all of your specs including number and placement of fans.
Open the case and listen carefully to verify where the whine is coming from.
Probably IS your video card fan, but it cannot hurt to be sure.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
