Specs: iPad
My printer worked perfectly then after a few months of non use it will not come on. No power light. checked that the cable is ok and tried another power source. The printer still won't come on. Where is the fuze in a canon mx494 printer?

I was always lead to believe that there no internal fuses on most domestic/soho printer. However this link suggests otherwise in relation to at least one Canon printer...

https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View...

And this YouTube be goes through assorted things to try, and includes referencing to a possible internal fuse... That is likely on the power supply board.

Logically the internal power supply board would be close the rear panel mains plug in port?

If you decide to go lookies inside the printer, ensure you do not have mains power cord attached.

You may, via long and patient google trawl, find a source for the “service manual” which will obviously give more detailed info re’ accessing internals, and where any/all internal fuses are located.

Just for info, despite what we see in the movies and in soaps, fuses rarely just die without there being some sort of fault which caused the overload. Whenever you replace a fuse you should always look for the reason.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
