Help with picking the right desktop

Specs: Windows XP

I was hoping someone could help. I'm wanting to buy a desktop computer and would very much like to get back into football manager. I haven't been able to play for years due to a rubbish laptop! I just dont know what desktop to get as they vary so much in price, etc, it's a bit of a mindfield for me. I primarily will be doing work on the pc and internet browsing. The only game I am likely to play is football manager but I want a pc that can last and handle the game because I have been told the more you play the more room is used up on the computer so I need a desktop that can handle this.

I hope someone can help advice me what to buy. Thanks

So then, you are interested in buying a pre-configured desktop with Windows 7 installed? Below is a link to the system requirements for football manager 2011. The requirements are not very demanding. Pretty much any desktop you could buy today would probably run the program.

That said, posting your current laptop full model would help gauge what you need.

What is your budget? Are you a Costco member?

Thanks for such a quick reply. My old laptop is a dell inspiron from 2000!! so not really worth talking about. Windows 7 sounds good. I would idealy like a big screen but am really only gonna use the computer for the following tasks: wordprocessing/power point presentation etc; football manager; internet browsing; possibly burning CD's but this is not essential.

I'm based in the UK and not a costco customer. Do you need any other info.

Sorry forgot to mention budget, ideally under £400-500, but i'm not fussed as long as it does the job, I just don't want to pay over the odds for my requirements.

Look at the link below fro Dell computers in the UK. Decide what size monitor you want. Dell allows you to choose what you want.

Read the reviews too.

If possible go to local stores and actually look at and try them if possible.
