Acer - aspire 14" touch-screen laptop -...

Specs: Android
My mouse is frozen on my Acer aspire laptop. How do I get it to work?
My screen works fine, I can call up Cortana, but I cannot use the pointer, the cursor.
I had a message from Advanced System Care that my driver for my pointer was out of date. Had it updated......then the next time I put the laptop on, frozen mouse.
Please help. I do not want the use factory setting as I will lose all my photos and work.

You mentioned "frozen mouse".
Are you using an external mouse? If it's a mouse is it wireless or corded?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

First try restarting the laptop (do not overlook the easiest things to try).
If it is the touchpad then try usb mouse, if it works then go to the system manufacture's site and look for the correct driver manually there and install it.
You can also try Safe Mode which uses a very basic generic driver so you may be able to get the correct driver that way.
ONLY get drivers from the system manufacture's web site, anything else may not e correct.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Use an external mouse to make navigation easier, then go into device manager and roll back the driver for your touchpad.

In a lighter vein - My mouse is frozen on my Acer aspire laptop

Place Apsire near a warm radiator or in front of a warm air stream, and leave for a wee while. Little critter will soon defrost and scamper about as per normal...

Sorry - couldn't resist it... Put it down to misspent childhood listening to the Goon Show, and later working on the Square World tv series...
