HELP!!! external Hard Drive is not detected anymore

Specs: Windows XP
Yesterday my WD 1T hard drive fell from a 40 cm height, FULL of VITAL info
hopefully it didn't stopped working and I watched a 3hrs movie on that and complete access!

But after i plugged out next time i wanted to use it, it turns on and make running noise like ordinary but won't be detected anyway on my PC!

Plssss help my whole life is in it

Dropping is never good and even when they work, it tends to greatly reduce the life of the drive. If the warranty is gone, you may have to take the hard drive out of the case and see if you can access it plugged into a sata/ide cable rather than usb.
The links below are to free data recovery programs, if all else fails you can try to see if they can find your data.

Does the hard drive show up in computer management? Control panel>administrative tools>computer management>disk management, and if so does it show it as a RAW file system?

As mentioned, a damaging fall can ruin the drive. If you do get it running again, you need to back up your "whole-life". The drive may completely fail soon (if it hasn't already). WDC has some pretty good tools to help with this:

@HopperRox: Actually it doesn't appear anywhere in the computer as well as the mentioned directory.
