Headphone Dilemma.

Bose On-ear headphones

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate
So I just had a brand new computer built.
Everything works well, but I can't use any kind
of headphones...

I purchased a pair of Altec speakers for my
new PC with an Aux jack on the front, which I
THOUGHT was for headphones. The speakers
work fine, but when I plug in any type of
headphones, I get no sound.

I also attempted plugging in headphones
straight to my Aux jacks on my PC drive.

I also made certain that the speakers were
enabled and sound volumes are at max.

How do I use headphones?

See 7. Color Codes section here:

Your post is unclear as to what works where, but if the
speakers work in a sound output jack and the headphones do
not work in that same jack, then the headphones or the headphone
connector is flaky.

If the speakers work in the front Aux jack, then the
headphones should work in that same jack as well. If nothing
works in that jack, the front Aux jack connection might not be
connected ( via wire) through to the right post on the motherboard.

Just another stupid saying...

If you have HD sound on the motherboard you may need to program the jack for whatever is connected to the ports.

Use the sound manager utility.
