If your CD dive is detected as master & HDD as slave, you have the jumpers setup incorrectly.

Unplug the power cord, open the case & reconfigure the jumpers on the rear of the drives. If 2 drives are on the same cable, either one must be jumpered to master & the other jumpered as slave, or both jumpered as CS (cable select). If you use CS, the drive on the end of the cable is master & drive in the center is slave.

If you have more than one HDD, it's best NOT to put them on the same cable. If you have 3 devices (2 HDDs & CD drive), use either of these configs:

primary master = HDD-1
primary slave = none
2ndary master = CD drive
2ndary slave = HDD-2

primary master = HDD-1
primary slave = none
2ndary master = HDD-2
2ndary slave = CD drive

If you only have 2 drives (HDD & CD), this is the best config:

primary master = HDD-1
primary slave = none
2ndary master = CD drive
2ndary slave = none
