hd password removal

I have a hd which has a password I do not want to know what it is inside just hate to waste the drive is there any way to recover it ?

Contact Toshiba and with proof of ownership they may be able to tell you how to remove it.

Hard disk passwords are impossible to remove as they are tied in with the hardware. They are put there by the manufacturer as a security measure as laptops tend to get stolen quite often.

Not sure if this helps but I had an issue with an employee who forgot his Drive Lock Password on an HP laptop. I called HP verified my credentials with them that I was who I said I was and asked for a supervisor to assist and even then they could not help me. The only way to recover the laptop was to reset the BIOS settings and reformat the drive.

But who knows Toshiba might be different.

Hi thanks a lot guys , the laptop is up and running with a new drive just as I said I think is a waste to scrap this drive .
