Hard Drive Space

Specs: Windows 7, 2 Gig
Hi guys, I was messing about on my laptop last night and came across something strange whilst copying a friends music files.
I have a 300Gig hard drive which is partitioned into 2 seperate drives. Both 150G. Drive D: which i dont install anything onto is showing only 20G space available yet when i open up the drive and select all the files inside it says that their size only totals about 60Gig.
I tried looking for hidden folders etc but nothing extra showed up.
So was just baffled as to what might be causing it? I checked for errors on the drive and nothing showed up on the scan. I'll try defragging later see if that bring anything up but im doubtful.
Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Get CCleaner. Lots of unnecessary files build up in your hard drive.

Yeah I have CCleaner but 50G+ of unnecessary files on a practically brand new laptop is a bit excessive, cheers anyways :)
I'll try running some virus scans and defrag it later
