Solved Hard Drive Not recognized Dell Error code 0150

Specs: Windows XP
My daughter has a Dell Latitude E5510 laptop. She is getting the message is "No Boot Device found"--message 0150. She and I have taken the hard drive out and re-seated it and the system still does not recognize the hard drive. In looking through what she got from Dell she does not have a Windows XP reinstall disk or device drivers disk. Any suggestions, ideas are welcome. We cannot get her system come up so we can go online for drivers and support

Hi MiMi0613,

Check if the hard drive is detected in BIOS. Restart the system and tap F2 to access System Setup.

Hard Drive information should be under Device Information.

I did check BIOS and the hard drive is not detected there. I was going to try reinstalling WIN7 so I could troubleshoot from Windows to see if that made any difference. I am afraid it will overwrite anything that may still be there. I also tried the FN and Windows key together to try to get those diagnostics to come up and it continues to say No Boot Device Found. Uncertain where to go next.

If the drive is not seen in BIOS then it is a hardware fault so no software fix will work.

Possible HD failure.
