"My current video card is a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter"

That means that you've never installed the proper video driver. How long have you been using it like that? Do you have a Dell Mobile Precision M6400? I don't know exactly which card you have or whether you're running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vista, so this is as close as I can get:

Precision M6400 graphics drivers

I have had this computer for about 1 year. It was a gift from a friend who was a Dell Marine Corps salemans.

Yes, It is a Dell6400 Precision.

32-bit.

I have a auto-cad program on this computer and it seems to run ok. (little slow sometime).

The fact that Device Manager list the graphics as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" means that the NVIDIA graphics driver has not been installed. If it had been installed, it would say something like "nVidia Quadro FX 3700M"

I provided a link in my other response. If you don't know which graphics type is in your laptop, enter the Service Tag info.

Just go to "Nvidia.com", click on "download", select Windows Vista and download the correct driver already. Here I even did all the work for you. IE, click on the link below.

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
