I cant find this model on HP's website... can you double check the model number, or am I just being stupid.... ;)

Anyway, if its a laptop, you cant upgrade the graphics card. If its a desktop, I can have a look into that once you double-check the model number

Its hard for us to help when we dont know what kind of computer you have.

If its a desktop, theres a possibility of upgrading it, but it depends on certain factors - please provide the correct model number, or even a serial number.

If its a laptop, no, you cannot upgrade the graphics card.

The term CARD is frequently mis-used. It's a CARD ONLY if it installs in a slot in the mboard is is removable. Onboard video - video built into the mboard, IS NOT A CARD !
Same goes for onboard sound, onboard network adapters, etc.

Only much more expensive laptops MAY have a graphics CARD, and even if it does, it's often difficult or impossible to find a better replacement. Most laptops have an onboard video adapter and that is not upgradeable.

However, there are graphics adapters for laptops you can plug into a USB port or card slot you can connect an external monitor to.
E.g.
See this:
Laptop video adapters, TV tuners
http://www.computing.net/answers/ha...

All Compaq models have a label on the outside of them somewhere that has both the Model number and the Product number.

On a laptop, that's usually on the underside of the base.

E.g. I found a couple of ones for Presario 7540 when I searched using that on the web.
cq3020il (A Spanish language model ?)
CQ50-110US (A US English model)

Go here:
http://www.hp.com/#Support

Look top right.
Make sure it's set to the country you bought the computer in

Select Download Drivers and software.

Use the Product number instead of Presario 7540 to search with.

E.g. CQ50-110US works fine.
