graphics card not identified

Specs: Windows XP
my friend gave me a nvidia graphics card without the drivers cd....(full detail-N8400GS-MD1GD3H/LP,geforce 8400 gs)..i downloaded the drivers from netbut when i try to install it says that setup failed to read the required display driver..

i had already tried this sight..didnt work...i downloaded original from msi...are there any other procedures??

make sure ur onboard video is disable via bios.
Does windows detect the graphics card you installed ? windows should install automatic drivers for it allowing you to install the driver from the manufacturer

Maybe if you give us the exact manufacturer and model of your computer.

There's another distinct possibility too...that 8400GS just ain't no good? Does it work properly in a different pc?

i will check my card in another computer for negative possibilities as soon as i can...my motherbord is asus M4N68T-M LE V2.
i am using win xp.
