When we call up our Google homepage a message says SGOS licence expired - problem with Proxy.
Other sites work OK.Can you help?
Thanks
I get this too - I can surf all other sites but when I try to access Google or Gmail I get this message - " A license has expired on the Proxy, and your request is not permitted: "The SGOS license has expired" "
ISP Talk Talk (Tiscali UK)
Worked fine until about 2am on 17th July 2010
I believe this is a problem internal to Google itself. There is nothing you can do to fix it. As long as other sites work ok, ignore Google homepage error message. I am sure Google engineers will take care of this temporary glitch. i_Xp/Vista/W7User
Sometimes that means your computer clock is set wrong--either someone changed the date or the cmos battery is bad and not holding the time when the PC is off. Now that's what I call a sticky situation
I have been messign about all day trying to fix this issue (have one XP, one Vista and one iPhone!) all get the same error - have reported to TalkTalk who told me other people were hitting the same thing - suggested I tried later... sounds to me like one of their servers really has got some sort of corrupt certificate or Google have taken an unwarranted dislike to it.
If you have installed some toolbar, try the workaround suggested in Response 3 in this 2004 Thread. Does it help? i_Xp/Vista/W7User
This is also showing on both PCs in my house - one running Windows 7 and the other Vista. As there have been several posts about this today I would imagine that the problem is at Google.
Hi I have just registered with this site as I have the same SGOS error. I am with Tiscali and use a Thomson modem. However I also have a spare modem (old one) preconfigured for Tiscali (Dlink) I run two PC's through the one modem. When I put the Dlink in circuit Google is fine. Put the Thomson back and I get the error on both PC's. This suggests the error is in the Thomson modem. Anyone else using a Thomson?
Hi . Have now fixed this problem. I have re-set the Thomson modem and all is ok.
I too have a Thomson and my ISP is Tiscali (aka talktalk). Having said that, Google is working for me now and I did't do a thing.
I wold imagine that the problem was external - at Google or probably talktalk (seeing that the ISP has been mentioned several times) and that they have fixed it.
