Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, AMD Sempron 768mb RAM
Hello,

I'm looking for a good power supply unit at a decent price that meets these specifications:

At least 4 IDE HDD/CD/DVD power connectors

At least 2 SATA HDD power connectors

At least 2 floppy disk drive power connectors

And power connectors that would be compatible with an AMD Sempron with an ASUS motherboard.

I would prefer it to be on Newegg.ca or Tigerdirect.ca,

Thanks guys!

Every psu lists the specs for each psu when you click on it. There's also an advanced search which lets you define what you're looking for. The 12 volt rail is what supplies power to the cpu and video card. Don't just go by wattage. it can be deceiving. Look for amps on the single 12 volt rail. Example, the Corsair line are mostly single volt rails and are highly rated.

Best thing to do is look around the site yourself. I prefer the Corsair line. Look for a psu that has only one 12 volt rail.

Okay whats a 12 volt rail and where do I find where it says how many IDE, SATA and floppy connectors it has on Newegg?

All you have to do is look on newegg!

Here's 16 power supplies from Newegg.ca, there are plenty more

For the above, all I did was search using certain criteria - ATX12V compliant, single +12v rail, active PFC, 80% efficient or better, etc. And I only selected the more reliable brands.

An important component that you didn't list is the video card. Some video cards require a fairly high minimum number of amps on the 12V rail. As noted in the responses above, you should be able to determine that by looking at the specs or details of the psu. I also like PC Power &Cooling in addition to Corsair.

Thanks guys! I think I've decided on the CORSAIR Builder Series CX430, because it has all the connectors I need and with the mail in rebate its only $19.99!
