Check that the fan(s) are freely spinning up and any heatsinks they cool are free of dust.

I already removed the processor, heat sink and fan and cleaned and also the case fan and installed another 450 watt power supply. All the fans speeds are good. The pc would not start up when I bought it and found the video card was bad so removed it. Still get the fan error and click F2 to continue which does power up windows vista and the pc works good.

Did you apply thermal compound exactly in accordance with the instructions for the particular CPU?

Have you checked temperatures (in BIOS or with a program)?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
