GEForce 9500 pci-e install computer won't boo

July 28, 2011 at 05:49:45
Specs: Windows 7 Professional, i5/4 GB
Installed GE-Force 900 PCI-E card on my HP Pro 3130 MT tower. Machine will *not* boot w/new video card installed.

BIOS setting or Default Video was changed to Internal and PCI-E, but whatever they were set to, when I installed the 9500, the laptop WILL NOT boot. Just hangs, no POST beeps, nada.

Seems like a hardware issue to me, but how to tell when tower will not boot witht he new video card installed. I need help ASAP!

Sounds like the card is not seating or making proper connections. Check the install guide for the new card. It may require additional power connector.

seats just fine...will try another GE Force PCI-e card I have as a troubleshooting aid. If machine boots up with it, then my card is bad. And its brand new. How is nVidia to deal with on warrantly claims?

Your warranty experience will depend on who made the card: Powercolor, Gigabyte, XFX, EVGA, etc, etc, etc. Not nVidia, they produce and sell the GPU to board-level assemblers such as these.

If you just bought it recently... I would check with that store's Return, Refund, DOA (Dead-On-Arrival) policy.
