Gateway desktop / Gm5084

Specs: Windows XP
A friend asked me to look at her Gateway GM5084 desktop, as her son had gotten it so loaded with malware that it wouldn't boot properly. When I started it up, it would blue screen. She couldn't find the recovery disc that came with it, so I had her get a copy of XP pro to install (she hated the media center edition it came with anyway). I got XP up and running, but I can't get the onboard NIC to work. nothing in device manager. I checked the Gateway site, thinking that since there is no way to control the onboard LAN through the BIOS, there was some special software gateway had to get the integrated peripherals to work... I found the motherboard drivers, but the gateway site times out every time I try to download the file. I've tried downloading from multiple computers on different networks, no luck. Is thereanywhere other than the Gateway site to get the files I need?
