Did it ever work correctly?

One post suggests that the amount of users is locking it.

Another post suggests that you have a good firewall that needs to be edited.
See this link. http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-...

Some of those games run with the help of a different product. It is called java. Java is a rather odd way of doing things and it takes a lot of resources to get to work. Basically it runs a virtual computer within your browser. (very basic statement) That means you have a lot of stuff going on that all needs to work together.

The reason I asked if it did work at one time, there is a way to roll back if you feel some new program caused it. If this stopped a few days or a week ago you can try a restore point. See your help and support pages for it.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

thanks for replying, but i just now started playing the games on facebook so yes it was working correctly. and i have no anti virus software on it or anything like that. i had a good friend of mine look at it and he works on computers and he still doesnt know what is wrong with it. but when he had looked at it for me i hadnt realized yet that it was just shutting off while i play cityville. so he had it on all day and said it didnt shut off on him but he wasnt on the game either and hes really busy and doesnt have time to look at again for awhile so was trying this route. thanks for your help. is there a way i can get java or find out if i need to install it or something? and sometimes i can play for an hour or so before it shuts off and it completely shuts the whole thing down and i have to hit the power button again. its driving me crazy though so plz help me!

If you need an update for Java, you go to Java.com and download the version for your browser.

It sounds like you might be overheating, if you have this laptop for a while (Vista, so probably yes) then use a can of compressed air (computer or office supply store) and blow the dust out of the vents to improve cooling performance and use the 'laptop' only on a hard surface. You can install a program like Speedfan to actually monitor your internal temperatures and see for sure that this is where your main problem is.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

'i have no anti virus software on it or anything like that.'

i would say you are infected with spyware and probably some viruses by now.

'i had a good friend of mine look at it and he works on computers and he still doesnt know what is wrong with it.'

He doesn't sound too qualified if he didn't even notice you had NO anti virus installed.
