Gateway laptop crashes when i play certain games...

Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i3 2.4 Ghz 370M (Arrandale)/3766 MB RAM
I have had this Gateway laptop since March of 2011, and until recently I haven't had any problems with it. I used to play Angry Birds Space back when it first came out (it worked fine and never would crash), but I tried playing it about a week ago and after about 3 or 4 minutes my computer would cut off and then restart itself. It would then go to the black screen where it says that Windows did not shut down correctly and if I would like to start in safe mode.

I thought this was very strange as I have never had a problem running anything that wasn't too graphics intensive. I know my computer only has an Intel HD Graphics card and that it can't run Modern Warfare 3 (or even COD2, for that matter) but come on, I know it can handle Angry Birds. So I try to see if it acts the same in other games, and I can still play Colin McRae Rally 2.0, World of Goo, Sim City 3000, and a few other randomly assorted games. But then Angry Birds Space, Hitman 3: Contracts, and Battlefield: Vietnam all make my system crash? It makes no sense.

So I searched the internet, and I tried to do everything I could think of... I installed the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers, drivers for the motherboard, ran windows update until completion, cleaned any extra hd space, ran disk cleanup, disk defrag, ccleaner, bitdefender antivirus scan. Some sites said the laptop could be overheating, but I have had a cooling pad underneath it since Christmas, it doesn't feel much hotter than usual after it crashes, and Core Temp looks normal.

So I found out that the reason I wasn't seeing a BSOD is that Windows 7 automatically restarts itself upon system failure, so I went and turned that off. I was going to use BluescreenView to try and see what error I get, so I started up Angry Birds Space and played until it cut off (and it was kind of weird because it lasted about 15 min longer than it has been before it cut off), but still no BSOD, just brought me back to the safe mode option screen again. Once my computer started I went into BlueScreenView and it still said there had been no crashes. What the hell is wrong? I read in another thread on a similar topic that this is most likely a hardware issue, but I have no warranty and no money so I can't really buy another laptop. if anyone has any idea on what this might be, please please help...if more info is needed just ask

the only thing comes into is DirectX updates - try to use DirectX WEB installer, DirectPlay, and try again

My DirectX was already updated to the newest version. Thank u anyways... I just wish I could figure this out.

Also, My laptop is a Gateway model NV55C31u if that helps at all.

That would be my guess. You need to troubleshoot to find the culprit. Start by testing your RAM with memtest86+.
