I have had a Gateway fx6800-01e for about a year and half now and have not had many problems with it at all until now it wont turn on. The only thing that looks like its working is theres a green light on the motherboard on constantly whether I turn it on or off it stays on, no other noises or signs of life. thanks if anyone can help!

I think the power supply is bad from what you say. Have you unplugged the power supply from the wall outlet, checked the 110/220 switch on the power supply?

yes its on the correct 115 power setting, and have power drained it (green light on MB turns off then) but as soon as I plug it back up lights back on and nothing happens when I press the power. also nothing else is powered from the computer works ie. mouse etc

I am having the same problem. The green light makes me think that the power supply is generating power though, because it isn't on once you unplug. If the the power supply were bad, wouldn't the light stay off?
