Gateway desktop no fans on but power light is lit?

January 8, 2021 at 11:02:16
Specs: Windows 10, 8
Mine is doing this now. It will be running for a while and then I’ll come down and it’s off, no fans or video, but the power light is still lit with no reaction when pushed or held down. Could this be the power supply or something else. If it is the power supply, which one do I get?

Are you sure it's not going into sleep mode or hibernation & then getting stuck? Try changing your power options settings.

No sleep mode. No fans are running either. The case, cpu, and psu fans are not on, but the light is on. Nothing happens if u press the power button or hold it down. If u unplug it for a min or so, once u plug it back in it starts up normally.

If you can get into the bios, try disabling this.

N8R,

You didn't say the model number of your computer.

Exactly what power light are you saying is on? The one
on the front of the case? Many computers also have lights
on the motherboard. I think that some have a light on
the power supply. Many computers have a power light that
changes color or flashes, depending on what power state it
is in. What do you see?
