Gaming motherboard blue flash

Specs: Windows 10, 16GB
I have just meticulously rebuilt mu PC with new Aorus gaming mother board and fast MSI graphics card.
With new power supply cabled up as well we then just switched the power button on on the power supply NOT PC. There was a frightening big blue flash. I thought OH NO that's shorted the board out and blown something. Apparently it seems you get all sorts of coloured lights. Wish they had told me.

I'm sure it's in the manual or product description at the Gigabyte website. Personally, I don't understand the whole "put LEDs on everything" state of computing other than people must have asked for it. Just like the change in computer cases from top-mounted to bottom-mounted power supplies. Top-mounted was superior for cooling & dust control, but for some reason, people asked for bottom-mounted & manufacturers obliged. Gotta keep the customers happy....
