Games/Movies do not recognize my higher resolution monitor

Specs: Windows 10
Hi.

I have an ASUS X550VXK laptop. It has am NVIDIA GTX 950M, Windows 10 (64 bit), and 1366x768 resolution.

I recently got a monitor that has 1920x1080 resolution.

However, I have a few problems. Some games do not recognize my higher resolution and only allow me to play on 1366x768. In addition, Amazon video is supposed to automatically recognize my capability for a higher resolution but thinks I can only supprt up to 1366x768.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Are there any driver for the monitor on their web site for that monitor? If so then install that.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Asus specs only list support up thru Windows 8.1. That said, it appears there are graphics drivers for Windows 10 64bit. Try downloading and installing drivers from the link below.

Two tips:
1) Make sure you're not mirroring the same image across both monitors. You should either extend your desktop across both monitors, or only show your desktop on your external monitor.

2) Make sure your external monitor is your main display, and make sure its resolution is set for 1920x1080.
