Solved Fx 8350: Idles At Max Frequency And Voltage

September 5, 2016 at 02:52:25
Specs: Windows 7
When Windows boots up, the process sits at its low frequency, and behaves as normal. However, a few minutes in, it ramps up its frequency and sits at 4110Mhz for the rest of its uptime, even in idle. The system sits at around 5-10% CPU usage, and yet the CPU is maxed out at all times

I've read tons of threads and tried many solutions. I've enabled all of the relevant BIOS settings (Cool'n'quiet, C6, C1, etc.), I've updated all of my drivers and BIOS, selected Balanced Plan in power settings, checked that nothing was using the CPU.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the issue?

As part of the cleanup ensure you include the CPU heatsink. With care you can deal with it through the fan without removing anything.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

All 8 cores are running on max freq.?
5-10% load: Does that indicate one core is running near max load?
