Front panel pinout

Specs: Windows Vista
I WAS CLEANING THE MOTHERBOARD OF MY COMPAQ PRESARIO 5000 AND THE FRONT PANEL CABLE GOT DISCONNECTED. THERE ARE 6 WIRES- 2 WHITE, 2 BLACK, 1 BLUE & 1 YELLOW. COULD SOMEONE ADVISE ME HOW TO CONNECT TO POWER LED, RESET SWITCH, HDD LED. I TRIED GOING ON THE SITE BUT IT DOESNT TELL WHICH WIRE GOES TO WHAT PIN. HELP ME PLEASE. THANK YOU.

thanks for responding. the model is a Presario 5400US and the motherboard is a VIA VT82c686B.

Your board should use the Intel Standard front panel pinout...

Power and reset doesn'[t matter which way you connect 'em. LED's will light up if connected properly and not light up if reversed polarity.

Not sure about the Compaq color codes but look closely to see if any of the wires are labeled.
