FP audio detection wrong. please help.

Specs: Windows XP
Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help as I've been to three other support forums and not getting a reply, despite a large amount of views.

Ok, my problem is that after upgrading my motherboard from a Lenovo Boro-rh to a Foxconn AME series my front audio *thinks* there is a device plugged in when there isn't and isn't when there is.

So, when I have no device in front audio it thinks there is and it overrides main speakers and I get no sound as there is no device plugged into the front and when I plug a device in it thinks there's nothing and so it comes through my speakers, but it ALSO comes through the headset plugged into the front. I have had to turn off the front audio detection and the front override.

Now, although this isn't a major problem I would like to fix it as it does mean that my PC isn't working the way it should.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with the change from an 8pin to a 10 pin connector on the motherboard and the connections not being in the right place.

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance for any help.
