I;m looking to format my sd card to .bin I bought a portable game player that has a sd card slot. I get a message that says, please check whether you have the Game Code Bin File placed in the "Game" folder on the sd card. How do I find and put a binary file on the sd card? Where can I find a .bin file

You cannot format your SD card to a .bin, all you are wanting to do is put a .bin file on the card, and that is not the same as formatting it.

To write a .bin file or any type of file to a memory card, you first have the file ready on your PC, then use a card reader/writer (most card readers can also write) to copy the file to your memory card.

The .bin file you need has to be the right one or it won't work. I've no idea where you get that .bin file from.

What is a model number of your portable game player?

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.

To add to what Phill said, formatting is the preparation fo a storage medium to receives files. Thi sincludes anything from a floppy disk a hard disk,or a n SD Card in a card reader. Some CD/DVDs need to be formatted before they can be used depending on how you intend to use them.

Formatting sets up the file system, whether that be FAT, FAT32 or NTFS depending of the medium and its size.

Once the medium has been formatted you can then start copy files to it, like this .bin file, or in the case of a hard disk, install the the operating system. .bin just means that is it a binary file with just binary data in it. It is not text a text file (.txt) or and executable file (.exe) or any other kind of file. You need a specific .bin file, Just any old .bin file wont do.
