You can partition it and remove all data so it can be used again usually.

Why did you forget it? Start writing them down. Most stuff I take a sharpe pen to them. I mark up wall warts and cables and you name it. I put passwords on the bottom of them so I don't forget them.

Writing down passwords? Doesn't that negate having a PW?
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/3125...

Use a PW vault which is a software application, or backup all your IDs & PWs in a password protected & encrypted zip file. Of course you'd need to backup that zip file on another drive somewhere, and REMEMBER the password to the vault or the zip file.

A password is only as secure as you need it to be. Most people can easily protect their data by writing down the password on the bottom. They could use clues too if so desired.

My first dog address might be a clue to remember.
