Specs: Windows 10, intel I-5/8 gigs
I am building a new computer, is it better to use the attached CD for driver installation or to go to MSI website and download drivers there?

How old is the motherboard? How long has it been sitting on the store or warehouse shelf? It's possible the drivers on the CD are already outdated. Windows will automatically install drivers which may (or may not) be up to date. Check the motherboard manufacturer's website for updated drivers. It's generally best to install the chipset drivers 1st; the other drivers (audio, network, graphics, etc) can be installed in any order afterwards. You should also check the GPU manufacturer's site to what they have available.

Brand new MSI b450 tomahawk max, just got it 3 days ago, have no idea how long it's been sitting on MSI shelf but Amazon had to re order because they were out of stock. I looked at the CD, it does not tell me what version of drivers is on it. BTW, thanks for the reply.

Checking the MSI site, the BIOS & chipset drivers are from a couple of months ago, but the drivers for the audio & network were just updated a few days ago.

The graphics drivers will depend on whether you have an actual card (AMD or NVIDIA) or are using the AMD graphics built into the Ryzen CPU.
