You may have to buy a battery supplied by Dell. You should find a link to order one on the Dell website. Battery ordering page is here for the UK: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sn...

If the UK is not your country, click the link at top-left of page.

Hi,

As suggested by phill22, kindly check the Battery status in BIOS, if its "unknown" then I would suggest using the compatible battery by matching the specifications from the old battery.

Thanks & Regards

"Can someone other than Dell employees or suppliers please respond to this issue please?"

What cheek!

I can assure you that I do not work for Dell or any other company. I am retired these past 20 years owing to an industrial accident. I have never worked for any computer manufacturer !

My advice to you was based on my personal experience with dell laptops owned by my friend's ( I've never owned one & never will). On several models, non-Dell batteries were no good so they had to order one from Dell at higher cost, but problem solved.

Your sarcastic comment is most unfair when you don't know the facts, so I thought I'd set you straight.

despite your sarcasm, I hope you get the problem sorted soon.

regards

Phillip
