Flash Drive does work.

June 21, 2012 at 11:39:22
Specs: Windows XP, 1.0Gb
I have a flash drive that works in one computer but does not work in another. When I plug it in, I get an error message that states that it was not installed correctly and will not work. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Could it be the USB port on the other computer, try another device (MP3 player, camera, ipod/iphone, mouse.etc), what memory stick is it?

Jay_nar2012,

I don't think the problem is with the USB port because I opened a different flash drive on that port without any problem.

Thank you.

As a general rule flash drives simply install. The error usually can be solved by rebooting the computer.

Plug it back in and see event logs for more detail.

Hang up and live.

How about a different USB port, like one on the back.

I am a hardware guy not a software guy but i try to help.
