"I tried to reinstall windows"
Do you mean reinstall & you lose everything?

Or, do you mean Repair?

Yes, please say which files and programs get deleted, and
what indicates to you that they have been deleted.

Also note that if you have trouble starting due to a bad shut down and get the offer to 'use last good configuration' and choose it, you are basically returning the system files and registry to a prior state. If the missing files and programs are a recent event then the programs will need to be reinstalled (much of their files will be somewhere but they will be useess until installed). Files you have save though should still be where they were saved but any shortcuts or desktop icons (files and folders) may not be so in that case, you will have to look for them or do a search for the folder and file names.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
