I am looking for BIOS for a FIC VC31 mobo which I believe is an Everex OEM board. I can't find BIOS version IEA42E on FICs unreliable FTP, nor do I know what Everex machine it came out of.
Any help would be appreciated.

Any BIOS update must be designed specifically for your system. If it is an OEM system the update must come from the computer manufacturer. If there is even a small mismatch between the hardware and the BIOS the update will fail. Such failures can be very difficult and expensive to recover from.

Why do you want to update the BIOS?

A BIOS update should only be done when the update was designed to solve a specific problem you are having. It should not be done to see if it will some some problem or you feel it is too old.

This is the FIC ftp bios download page for the VC31:

Make sure the download you use matches your motherboards PCB version.

However, if it came out of an Everex--that is, if it shows some kind of Everex logo or other ID--then you need to go to the Everex support page for the bios update. If you don't know the Everex model it came out of check its posting screen or in cmos/bios setup and see if it's ID'd there. The posting screen might also show a bios string that'll help ID it.
