Someone created a fake gmail email acct as me and sent emails to other people with fake lies. The email went to one person who was able to reach the person it was intended for.
What are you asking from us? And what are "fake lies"? Wouldn't that be the same as "the truth"?
There are many ways hackers and malcontents can simulate another persons' email account; or even access another's account and send an email that way. I'm presuming you mean they sent emails containing lies about you - or if you prefer falsehoods.
Either way... change you login details - your password - on your email account; and also any security questions you may have set as proof of identity.
Change password first; then log out and reboot the computer fully. Then login to your account and change the security aspects as above.
Gmail has some major security issues to address in therms of how it deals with account login names containing the full stop/period within the user name. riider flagged these up recently in connection with Netflix...

Ideally - if viable and it isn't always) - create a new account and use a complex user-name, and equally solid password too.You may also have recourse to reporting to the police if you can demonstrate (i.e. prove) that a given individual has done the fake emails routine as described. I think it's a criminal offence in may countries?
