Kensington / Displaylink

Specs: Windows 7
I have a Dell Studio laptop connected to a Kensington Displaylink docking station. Everything works except I cannot get a display on my external monitor. I have rebooted, reconnected everything, but I get a message on my monitor that says "no signal coming from your computer." Help.

You have to press the correct keys to change the display...it will be the Fn key plus one of the F-keys. For instance, on the following keyboard, it would be Fn + F7

You have to look at your keyboard, each laptop is different. Notice that the F-keys have additional characters in blue. You will have to look at your F-keys & find the one with 2 monitors, then hit the Fn + F-key at the same time...you *may* have to do it more than once.

EDIT: try Fn + F8

Does the docking station come with software? I remember an
old laptop with a factory docking station having a different
hardware profile.

Read the documentation - it should tell you what you can do to correct the issue. No documentation? Go to Kensington tech support site and explore the knowledgebase.
