I just installed a new WD SATA drive and I am using a PCI VT-6421 controller. I got the drive formatted, even moved some files moved to it 1 time. Now every time I open Explorer it just hangs and won't show any drives. The only way I can get explorer to work is to unhook the data cable then it all works fine.. except I can't use my new drive.

Any suggestions??

How and when did you place data on the SATA drive if you can't boot to Windows?

this is just an additional drive I am adding for storage space. I still boot to the same PATA drive my OS has always been on. I have only been able to get the drive to pull up the first time after Installation. Since then it just hang up Explorer, even if i let it sit for 4+ hours.......

Then install the SATA controllers using the setup file on the motherboard CD. You can do that from inside WinXP just like you were installing a program.
