everytime i restart xp i lose my audigy

Specs: Windows XP
Everytime i restart xp, the intro sound gets all choppy and then i have no sound. if i remove the audigy device in system manager then run add hardware, it reinstalls it and works fine. As soon as i reboot, it's gone again! I'm wondering if has anything to do with the HD audio thats on board. Normally if i disable something in the bios, xp won't find it upon startup. Not this time, when i disable the onboard audio, xp still finds it :(

I assume your Audigy is an add in card? If so, then disabling the integrated sound in the BIOS would certainly help. Also, install the card far away from the graphics.
