First, don't just import random .reg files without knowing what they do.

Second, what is the full, exact wording of the error message you get? And does this happen for all .exe files, or just some?

Try running chkdsk and memtest - that should identify any problems with either the hard disk or your memory, both of which are likely causes of a problem like this.

the reg file was suggested in the forum as sulotion to known issue in w7 with all sort of file, including exe
on the same PC ther are xp, vista and w7.
I dont get errors on the other Os, so I think it is not a mem or disk problem
Chkdsk was run sveral tims

sounds like your hard disk is failing.

What was the result of running chkdsk? Did it find any errors?

That indicates some disk corruption, which may or may not indicate the disk is failing.

Does it do this every time you run chkdsk?
