epson Tm-T81 suddenly not printing

May 17, 2013 at 21:02:55
Specs: Windows XP, Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz / 2014MB RAM
We've been using it for our POS for over a year, and today it suddenly wouldn't print at all. It's connected to a router because an identical printer is in the kitchen, which prints out the kitchen orders just fine. But the one out here for printing the receipts and bar orders suddenly won't print.

The orange error light is on, and when I ping it, it responds in less than 1ms. It's got a new spool of paper, we've tried reseting it and the PC, but the orange light is still there and it still won't print. :(

Can someone please help?

Is there an error message? Look in the event viewer. Are the documents still in the queue? Check the ink levels.

Hi! The only error message it said was failed to print. Yes, all documents are still in queue. I tried clearing all in queue at first but when we used the POS after the same error happened. I also tried retrying the first one in the queue and it still failed. Also, there's no ink levels coz it's a thermal printer..

From the manual:

ERROR LED on (not flashing) with no printing.
Check if the roll paper is correctly set, and the printer cover is closed properly.

What about the event viewer? Don't forget to look at that.
