I have a Epson Stylus Photo RX 250 . While I was changing all the inks, I noticed that the yellow ribbon or ban was snapped . Can I replace this , were can i buy it from , how to replace it
Doesn't sound like something you could repair. The repair is probably too costly. Try contacting an authorized Epson repair depot. How did you break the ribbon? If you use the proper method to change ink the cartridge should move to the center.
I did , the ink cartridge did move to the middle .
I started to print some of my college work, and nothing happen . This is when found the yellow ribbon lying . Have never seen it before !!!
That sounds like the data ribbon. If you didn't do anything it MIGHT plug into the print head carriage. There is also a belt to move the carriage side to side. Usually black rubber, like belts on a car.
Is that what you mean? Below is a link to a Canon inkjet that shows both the data ribbon cable on the left of the print head, and the carriage belt to the right (narrower Orange color).
Its is the orange one
That appears to be the belt that moves the carriage. You could contact Epson authorized repair to see if it is worth fixing. Was everything working before you changed the ink?
Othehill, many thanks for helping me, yes it looks like its the belt that moves the carriage .Yes every thing was working great before the ink ran out .
I have just bough about 3 sets of ink , ready to print off all my college work.Have e-mailed Epson , but they have not answered back.
Just my luck .
Thanks Allison
