Specs: Macintosh
I see this question on the board quite a bit but I have yet to find the answer. I am connected wirelessly, the printer was printing fine, then suddenly it would print either a string of nonsense or just one character. Returning the printer is not an option. Throwing it against the wall is tempting.

Does anyone know whats going on?

I have checked that its set to ENGLISH

A few questions...

Model of printer?

Does it have an ethernet connection option besides wireless; and have you tested it that way?

Does it print "garbage/nonsense" when connected via usb?

Does it print garbage/nonsense from all sources; i.e anything in the MS Office suite, and anything from online (web pages, emails etc.)?

Your specs say Mac... which version of OSX, and have you the latest drivers for the printer installed?

Long shot... have you run a malware scan; and if possible an anti-virus too? Bitdender (free) works fine on my Mac systems; as does malwarebytes (free); and also ccleaner (free).

Macs are occasionally being hit by nuisance ware and the odd trojan does get - even if not effective in it's intentions.

As a matter of course I run all three of the above regularly.

Another thing that mysteriously fixes weird printer problems is simply unplugging the printer, pressing the power button 3 or 3 times to discharge any capacitors, plugging it back in and starting it up again. While it i starting, restart the computer/device you are printing from to clear and cache and clear any pending printing from the spooler.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
