Hi, I am trying to enable VT support on my
machine so I can run 64-bit clientOSs in
VMware Workstation.

I currently have
- an HP Pavillion Slimline s3750t
- Intel E7400 Core 2 Duo (does NOT support
- Phoenix Award BIOS 5.23
- Irvine motherboard

I am planning to upgrade my proc to a Core 2
Quad 9300 or 9400 which DOES support Intel

When I boot into BIOS today I do NOT see a
switch for VT technology. HP does not offer
an updated BIOS of any kind for my machine.

- If i install the new proc will I see the VT
switch, allowing me to enable the feature on
the motherboard?
- OR, can I somehow get an alternate BIOS
that lets me enable the feature on my

Please help!

If it's not in the bios, you're out of luck.

Grasshopper, appreciate your reply. To be clear, my e7400
does not support VT. So I was hoping:

(1) if I put in a VT proc like the E9300, the VT setting might show
up in the BIOS? OR
(2) is there ANY WAY I can get a third party BIOS that will
enable VT??

Either one possible??

Thanks, --Mark.
