Plug for the monitor may b installed upside down. It will fit either way.

"Plug for the monitor may b installed upside down. It will fit either way."

????????? Which plug? I have no idea what seawatch1 is talking about and apparently neither does He/She.

Is the logo you mention only the monitor logo?
The No signal message means exactly that. there is no signal to the monitor.
This means there is nothing wrong with the monitor. The fact you have just moved the system may mean the graphics card has been dislodged slightly from it's socket.
Open the case and with power disconnected, re-seat the ram and graphics card.

And just so you know. There is no such thing as a HP Emachines. HP & Emachines are completely separate companies.

You also state your system is otherwise working properly. How can you tell if there is nothing on the monitor? Does it seem to fully boot and play the windows intro sound? Or are you assuming just because the fans spin, that the system is booting?

The video plug that goes into the video card. It's a D plug and the cord from the monitor can be plugged in either way. If the system was taken apart and moved, the plug that goes into the card from the monitor can be plugged in the wrong way.

And I do know what I'm talking about Richard. Better watch your mouth.

"And I do know what I'm talking about Richard. Better watch your mouth"

.You said "Plug for the monitor may b installed upside down"

The plug is clearly asymmetrical and cannot be inserted Upside down.
connecting the cable the wrong way around is not upside down.

If you wish to give technical advice then the least you can do is use appropriate language to correctly convey your meaning without ambiguity. Criticism of your answer was warranted and was forthcoming. So you claim to know what you are talking about.Congratulations. It is only the rest of us who have no idea what you are talking about. I have yet to find a monitor cable with a label that says "this end to PC" or "This end to Monitor" maybe I've just been lucky never to have connected one the wrong way around.

Watch my mouth???? If you wish to refute the criticism then by all means do so and quote the technical sources to back your claims. Upside down indeed.
