Hi. I have an Exabyte Eagle TR-4i ATAPI/IDE Tape Drive in my Windows 95 PC, and It doesn't want to work. Device manager lists the drive as installed, and it detected in the BIOS, but I can;t find the drive in MY COMPUTER. Microsoft Backup won't detect the drive either. Can someone help me figure this out? thanks

Tape drives won't show up as drive letters, you need to use the backup software that comes with them.

I think thats my problem then. I don't have any backup software that will support that drive. Can someone help me find some software for Windows 95 that will support the Exabyte Eagle TR-4 Tape Drive?

What do you hope to accomplish with the tape drive? Those tapes are 4GB with up to 8GB storage capacity with full compression. As I recall, the compression rate was closer to 150%, not 200%.

Try the MS software linked below.

I had a TR3 tape drive with Win95 back in the day. The software that was bundled with it was Seagate Backup V. 5.3. Came on 2 3.5" floppies. I don't know where you could get versions of backup exec that old now.
