DVD-ROM software not installing

Specs: Windows XP
so i got dis printmaster 2011 platinum software. Its a DVD-ROM software, but when i put it in my DVD-ROM, my pc cant read it. is says to insert a disc in drive I: or somedin like dat...i even tried to put it in my CD-ROM and it still doesnt work.

also i tries disabling my firewall and antivirus like the product suggests and it still doesnt work.
but i tried it on my laptop, which is CD/DVD drive while my pc has seperate drives for the DVD and CD, and it works.

i also tried to manually installing it by running since it doesnt auto run and it stills says the same ding about inserting a disc into the drive.

i need help guys...thank u!!!!!!!

Your optical drive either has a dirty lens or is defective. You can try a lens cleaning kit or replace the drive.

Your drive is capable of reading DVD media isn't it?

yeah it is...its able to c dvd movies and what not...it just wont install my dvd software...
