DVD/ CD-ROM drives are inaccessible

September 12, 2009 at 14:12:13
Specs: Windows Vista
I found this on the properties page:

"A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."

I clicked "Check for solutions" and nothing happens. I'm not sure when it was disabled. I just happened to notice when I put a CD into my driver. Any help would be appreciated.

Did Vista originally come on that computer? Are the optical drives SATA or IDE interface? Is the OS hard drive SATA or IDE?
