What SP version of XP did you install? You may need to update to SP3 or at least SP2 and then try the driver install again.

Other than that, are you sure you're doing the installation correctly?

it was xp with SP2 and i already install there SP3 but still it is not working.

Yes, regarding instalation i get the link from the customer service representative and i think i am doing it correctly, it is very simple operation.

I download http://www.hwinfo.com/ and from there downloaded drivers of chipset but still the machine is answering the same - this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will exit.

I really don't know what it might be. HDD was formatted, i don't know it it could be virus, or physical damage on the MB, or really i dont know...

should I give you here result of http://www.hwinfo.com ? Please can you let me know what you think about that?

Intel doesn't list that motherboard--D945GBI--on its site probably because it was made for Gateway. Here is the download page for the D945GBO:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...

The GBI or GBO in the model numbers usually are just some minor variations between the boards. Most if not all the drivers will be ths same. Anyway, the Intel page will have the most recent driver downloads. Try the chipset download from there and see if it works.

You don't need to look beyond Gateway and Intel for the drivers. If they aren't working then something else is wrong.

I guess you downloaded the files and extracted them--if they were .zip file--and then burned them to a cd to do the install?

You might try installing them from safe mode.

Did you make any hardware changes to the system?

Check with gateway to see if you can still order a restore cd for it. That would come with all the necessary drivers.

Edit It's possible you don't need the chipset drivers. Try installing the video drivers and then the network drivers and see if they 'take'.

Hello

I was trying to install drivers what you recommended. They are not working. I was trying to do it in safe mode logged in as administrator. All the drivers i placed on HDD of the PC what i am installing. always when i downloaded new driver i copied that through USB into the PC.

with one driver PC is writing something strange - The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

I really think that the problem is not with the drivers but with some settings of PC but i don't know what it might be.

In this PC is nothing at all. I formatted HDD and installed WIN XP. this is the only thing what is there and bunch of drivers what are not working.

Do you have idea what kind of settings or what else can cause so strong protection against any installation?

is there something else what i can do with this PC?

Thank you very much for help. Really appreciate that.

Yeah, you probably need to be logged in on an administrator account but other than that I can't think of any setting that wouldn't let you install drivers.

I mentioned you could check to see if a restore disk is available from Gateway. It's also possible that if you're using the original hard drive that there's a restore partition on it. You can check the boot options in cmos/bios setup or the manual to see how to boot from that partitioni, if it exists.

I can't think of anything else to suggest. You have the right drivers and I assume you're extracting and installing them correctly. It should be working.
