Drive not showing in XP disk management

December 12, 2011 at 10:16:15
Specs: Windows XP Home
Drive is a 320GB internal drive but it was cloned to a 500GB larger drive, (that's now the main internal drive), using Acronis 11.0.

320 GB drive is now hooked up as an external drive using cables. It shows up as a USB Device in Device Manager and in Safely Remove Hardware as a Mass Storage Device, but it's not shown anywhere else on the computer like in My Computer.

Assign a letter?

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

"320 GB drive is now hooked up as an external drive using cables"

What kind of cables since the drive itself is not a USB device.?

Those cables that you can buy that includes an USB connection.

They're like an all in one thing - they have SATA and an IDE connection. Don't know the proper names for them - perhaps, adapters???

The drive itself incidentally, is an IDE.
